Fitted Cap Of The Month
The Toronto Blue Jays was founded in 1977 entering the MLB as an expansion team along with the Seattle Mariners. It is currently the only international team playing in the MLB after the Montreal Expos moved to Washington DC after the 2004 season. The team colors are currently Blue, Black, Graphite, Silver, and White. From 1977 to 1989, the team played at the now defunct Exhibition Center before moving to the Skydome in 1989, renamed Rogers Stadium in 2000 after being acquired by Rogers Communications.
The team logo used on this cap is the original and arguably most memorable Blue Jays logo to be used. It was in play from 1977-1996, during which the Jays won their back to back World Series Championships in both 1992 and 1993. This earned them the honors of the only team outside the United States to win a World Series, first team to win a World Series in Canada, and fastest AL expansion team to win a World Series winning in just their 16th year. In 1996, the Blue Jays changed their logo to incorporate lettering while keeping the same base design. In 2002, the Jays once again changed their logo in favor of a more modern Blue Jay logo. Currently the original team logo is used sparingly on both the Blue Jays’ jersey and caps as the alternative 2 team uniform.
This cap pays homage to the iconic Air Max 95 Neon colorway which was the initial colorway dropped for the shoe in 1995. The shoe, designed by Sergio Lozano, was based on human anatomy and thus features tiered panels from an Anthracite-Grey-Neon color progression.
