The slight downside of Mohair hats is that they are often times somewhat itchy. For that reason, quality Mohair hats have a silk or cotton lining.

As a general rule, natural materials are preferred over synthetic ones. Synthetic, man-made materials are less "breathable" fabrics and will leave your head sweaty, which is actually much worse unless you want to catch a cold.
